When I came onboard as communications lead at the University of Minnesota’s $14 million terrestrial invasive species research center, my first major task was to overhaul its digital presence.
As a trained plant biologist and creative writer, I like to explore all media when it comes time to tell the story of a published research article’s impact in the community. I love working with clients who are just embarking on a major, perhaps life-changing journey – a new business, a first-time political campaign. I take the responsibility of creating a brand that will feel personal and inspiring for these clients very seriously.
I’ve benefited from incredible mentors throughout my own career, so it’s important to me that I pay it forward with my own mentoring work.
I take on pro bono projects because I believe that community members who are making a difference deserve top-quality work no matter their operating budgets, and deserve to see their own, deeply personal vision for a life-changing campaign or small business brand come to life with a little bit of technical help.
Work flow efficiency can make or break a project on deadline. Here are a few of my favorite tools for better project and work flow management based on past experience.
