CONTEXT

STRATEGIC THINKING

“People exceptionally talented in the Context theme enjoy thinking about the past. They understand the present by researching its history.”*

The key to great storytelling is the ability to contextualize and connect moments into something memorable. People don’t see stars – they see constellations. As a science writer, I believe it is critical to contextualize complex research findings with shared audience values, history and prior knowledge to convey highly technical information in a meaningful and memorable way.

I’m an expert in technical writing and editing and writing copy about scientific topics for both specialized and lay audiences. My creative writing about science received a $10,000 Artist Initiative award from the Minnesota State Arts Board in 2017.
